PSA Grower Training Course – Virtual Course

Course Description

This course will provide the foundation for Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), the requisites envisaged by the FSMA Implementation Safety Rule Regulation and details on how to develop a Food Safety Plan for farms.

Course Audience

Participants will develop basic knowledge on:
Micro-organisms important for the safety of agricultural products and where these can be found inside the farm; how to identify microbial risks, practices to reduce these risks and how to start implementing safety practices within your own farm; the parts of a Food Safety Plan for farms and how to prepare one, and the requirements of the Implementation Safety Rule Regulation of the FSMA and how to satisfy them.

Agenda

The Lead Instructor will spend approximately seven hours to cover the program contained in the following seven modules:

  1. Introduction to Produce Safety
  2. Worker Health, Hygiene, and Training
  3. Soil Amendments
  4. Wildlife, Domesticated Animals, and Land Use
  5. Agricultural Water (Part I: Production Water; Part II: Post-harvest Water)
  6. Post-harvest Handling and Sanitation
  7. How to Develop a Farm Food Safety Plan

Material

Every attendee will receive (in paper or digital format) the Official PSA Manual “Grower Manual” (issued by PSA) in English, folder and block notes, exercise sheets and a satisfaction questionnaire.

Certificate

Following participation in the training course, learners will be entitled to receive a certificate from the AFDO – Association of Food and Drug Officials to verify completion of the training course. To receive an AFDO certificate, participants must attend the course for its entire duration and present the correct forms to their instructor at the end of the training course.

Teacher

The Course will be held by the first Lead Instructor qualified by PSA in Europe, Dr. Claudio Gallottini, an European TOT trainer of the Alliance, consultant for ESI Italian Consulting Company operating at international level, which today has more than 700 PCQI representatives of the biggest industrial realities of the European Country, only to create a network throughout the territory for a continuous exchange of information and support.


Payment Terms:

Payment of $600 is due in full at the time of registration.

Rescheduling Policy:

You may reschedule prior to 15 days before your class date at no charge.
If you would like to reschedule 14 days or less prior to your class date, there will be a £100 rescheduling fee

Cancellations and Refunds:

Cancellations made 30 days or more before the scheduled class date will receive a full refund.
Cancellations made between 15 and 29 days before the scheduled class date will receive an 85% refund.

Cancellations within 15 days of the scheduled class date will not receive a refund.
Any cancellations that affect the group discount rates will be refunded according to both the discount and cancellation policies

ITA Corporation reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course with at least one week’s notice to the customer. Should the course be canceled or rescheduled, customers have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
